Founder

Megan Scott - Licensed Acupuncturist

With more than 20 years of clinical experience, I founded Meridian Lakes Acupuncture to provide exceptional acupuncture care that combines the highest standards of professionalism with a deeply personal approach to healing.

Throughout my career, I have practiced in hospital-based settings, caring for patients with a wide range of health concerns and collaborating alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. My professional path has taken me from a health system in northwest Minnesota – Land of 10,000 Lakes, to The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland Ohio – The Land on the shores of Lake Erie.

I bring a pioneering spirit to the clinics and healthcare systems I have been proud to call home over my many years of practice. I build programs where they weren’t before to bring acupuncture to more patients – in recovery centers, in clinics, in schools, in a 24-bed rural hospital and to the Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute of Cleveland Clinic.  I successfully created and administered a pilot program where acupuncture was provided to open heart surgery patients with goals of reducing anxiety, pain and nausea.

I earned my Master of Oriental Medicine from Northwestern Health Sciences University and hold a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. I am licensed to practice acupuncture in Ohio and am a Diplomate of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine through the National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM).

I value clinical excellence and evidence-informed care and will always be on the cutting edge of my medicine while focusing on what matters most, the patient sitting in front of me. I believe every person deserves to be heard, respected, and treated with compassion. My goal is not only to help relieve symptoms, but also to create a space where patients feel supported, understood, and empowered in their health journey.

I am an advocate for acupuncture and the patients I serve working at national and state levels.  I am a very active member of the Ohio Acupuncture Association and a past Vice President focused on membership, education and legislation.  I have contributed to research and guidance for hospital-based acupuncture programs.

Meridian Lakes Acupuncture reflects the practice I envisioned throughout my career: a place where expert care is delivered at a thoughtful pace, in a peaceful environment, with the patient at the center of everything I do. It is an honor to be trusted with your care, and I look forward to helping you improve your health, restore balance, and live more fully.
